Excellent quality knife! I’ve been wanting to get an OTF for awhile, and I’ve been resisting the urge to buy one of those cheap Amazon clunkers and holding out for something like a Microtech or Benchmade… but when a friend suggested TAKCOM I read up a lot and watched some reviews that really impressed me. Now that I’ve got this one I’m extremely impressed. The action is crisp and solid. Blade lockup is nice and tight too, easily as good as the high end ones I’ve handled, but at half the cost. The first one had some misfire issues, but I contacted TAKCOM and they immediately shipped me a new one, which has had zero issues at all. I carry this thing every day. It’s good steel, stays sharp, and always feels very solid. I chose the two tone double edge blade Chimera, and I’m telling ya, you’ve gotta see one of these in person to truly appreciate how nice they really are.
I have been in the market for an OTF for a while but just couldn’t justify $400 price tag for a Microtech. After seeing a video reviewing the Bulldog I decided to check out there website where I found the Chimera and the rest is history. I fell in love with the look of the knife and I can see it feels great in the hand. The firing of the knife feels solid and this thing is sharp out of the box. I would definitely recommend Takcom for an OTF if you are on the fence about getting one but can’t justify the higher price tag of equivalent brands. It also goes great with the rest of my EDC!!
